WAKKA, May 6: The Chongkhow Students’ Union (CSU) of Wakka circle in Longding district conducted a social service and planted saplings of different varieties of trees and bamboos, especially in landslide prone colonies on 5 May.
The plantation drive was conducted to save Chongkhow village from soil erosion, landslide and other natural calamities.
ZPM Matpho Kolong and chief of Chongkhow, Jato Wangham appreciated the students for the initiative and assured to support the youths in similar programmes that benefit the village.
The Wakka ZPM and ASM of Chongkhow Village sponsored the event, which was led by CSU general secretary Loching Gangsa, Advisor Pankha Kolong and Spokesperson Nyempho.
