Dera Natung remembered on 17th death anniversary

ITANAGAR, May 8: Former education minister of the state, late Dera Natung was remembered on his 17th death anniversary here at the Dera Natung Government College premises on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary for RD Mama Natung highlighted on the life and achievements of late Dera Natung
“Late Natung always focused on improving the state’s education scenario. He believed that only education could bring true change in the society”, said the parliamentary secretary.
Late Natung was on his way from Bhalukpong to lay the foundation stone for Eklavya Model School at Bana in East Kameng district when his chopper crashed.
The parliamentary secretary advised the people, especially the youth to participate in development actives of the state and carry forward the vision of late Natung.
Responding to a proposal by college principal Dr NT Rikam for the Dera Natung memorial lecture series, the parliamentary secretary advised the college authority to send a proposal letter to the state government and assured his help.
Dr Rikam highlighted the biography of late Dera Natung.
Earlier, a floral tribute was paid to the statue of the former minister.
