Skill enhancement fisheries training held

TEZU, May 9: Three days ‘skill enhancement fisheries training’ was held from 7 to 9 May at the BRC hall here by the department of Fisheries for 20 fish farmers from different circles of Lohit district.
Attending the inaugural day, SDO K Karmakar stressed that fish farming should be taken up using the latest technology by interested farmers to increase production and maximise income.
Briefing the gathering on the various aspects of the training, DFDO L Kamchi requested the trainees to adopt new fish culture technology for better production. He also stressed for conservation of riverine fishes, and not to harvest during the ban period from April to September months for their smooth migration and breeding.
Fishery Officer Tapan Datta also advised the trainees to implement the knowledge earned from the training and utilize it on the field and share the technology with others.
The DDA and DVO also shared their experiences and knowledge with the farmers for increasing income through fish farming by adopting integrated fish farming technique with other allied culture systems. (DIPRO)
