Blood donation camp organized

PASIGHAT, May 15: Thirty-six units of blood were collected during a blood donation camp organized by the Kepang Erang Yameng Kebang (KEYK) at Bakin Pertin General Hospital here on Monday.
In total, 137 volunteers of the KEYK had registered for donating blood.
East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak, who was also present on the occasion, said voluntary blood donation would not only provide great relief to the needy patients but also go a long way in meeting the blood requirement of the district.
The DC also launched eRaktkosh, the web portal which is a central government initiative to digitalize all licensed blood banks in the country. Needy patients and their attendants can log on to www.eRaktKosh.in to know about the availability of blood.
A mobile app for the portal has also been released, the DC said.
Present on the occasion, among others, were DMO Dr Mandip Perme, Blood Bank Officer Dr Gegong Jongkey, medical officers and health workers of the district.
KEYK president Todol Pertin also spoke.
