RAGA, May 22: The All Kamle District Youth Association (AKDYA) in a representation to the deputy commissioner on Monday appealed to him to initiate early steps to ensure that the Ziro-Daporijo road, which serves as the lifeline of the district, is repaired and maintained.
The association said the road is presently in a dilapidated state and poses a threat to motorists.
It also urged the authorities to ensure immediate establishment of police outposts in Liruk village and Tamen town, besides carrying out phase-wise checking of inner-line permits, as well as carrying out eviction drives against those who have encroached on government land allocated for the proposed district headquarters.
