SOHA, May 24: Farmers and PRI members from Soha circle and Deomali area attended a training programme on ‘horticulture-related skills and assistance’, conducted here in Tirap district on Thursday by the horticulture department.
Addressing the participants, Deomali HDO N Rongrang highlighted the importance and benefits of the horticulture sector, and urged them to adopt sustainable cash crops and discard the traditional jhum cultivation.
Horticulture specialist from the Deomali KVK, Dr Abhimanyu Chaturvedi imparted training on organic cultivation, production of vermicompost, cultivation of oyster mushroom, etc.
Horticulture tools and implements along with cash incentives were later distributed among the participants.
The programme was conducted with fund from the 2017-’18 MLALADS. (DIPRO)
