NAMSAI, May 26: Thirty officials from various government departments participated in a training programme on energy conservation and energy efficiency organized at the DC’s conference hall here on Friday.
The programme was sponsored by the Bureau of Energy efficiency (BEE) and conducted by the APEDA, Namsai.
Addressing the participants, SDO (Civil) Orin Lego stressed the need for energy conservation in view of the fast depletion of natural resources like coal, petroleum products, natural gases, etc.
“There is a standing instruction from the state government for all government and semi-government offices and institutions to replace conventional energy-consuming electrical equipment with energy efficient ones,” Lego informed.
He lauded the district APEDA for its efforts to popularize renewable energy practices through solar power plants, biogas, etc.
Hyderabad-based SIRI Energy & Carbon Advisory Services’ director G Subraruaryarn was the resource person.
Earlier, APEDA Project Director AK Rana encouraged the departments to approach the APEDA for conducting electrical load assessment survey in their offices and institutions, and to get conventional electrical equipment replaced by energy-efficient ones.
