ITANAGAR, Jun 4: The Land Affected Justice Forum (LAJF) in a memorandum to the chief secretary on Monday sought his intervention in the land compensation issue related to the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) project from Joram to Koloriang road.
Saying that no action has been initiated till date despite their repeated representations to the home commissioner-cum-chairman of the fact-finding committee, the forum threatened to launch a series of democratic movements till its demands are met.
Its demands include immediate cancellation of the cheque issued by the then Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Kemo Lollen; re-verification and disbursement of compensation payment from 20 to 50 km for Joram-Koloriang road; arrest of those who obtained illegal compensation payment against the Joram-Koloriang TAH road; recovery of illegal amounts kept held up in different banks; arrest of the Central Bank’s branch manager in Ziro for carrying out illegal transaction by neglecting government orders; deployment of paramilitary force to maintain law and order in the district; and transfer of the Lower Subansiri SP and other officers “for their inefficiency in tackling law and order in the district.”
