Union seeks inquiry into land compensation issue

ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has expressed grave concern over the alleged land compensation ‘scam’ and the ongoing tussle among different groups over the issue causing inordinate delay in the implementation of the Trans-Arunachal Highway project in Lower Subansiri district.
Stating that many innocent people who spared their land for the development of the state have been victimized for no fault of theirs, the ANSU in a representation to the home commissioner-cum-chairman of the fact-finding committee on Monday urged him to expedite the inquiry into the case and submit the findings as early as possible, so that appropriate action can be initiated against the erring official(s).
The union appealed to the state government to “release the payment of all the genuine beneficiaries and hold the payment of all the doubtful beneficiaries.”
