Tai Khamti Singpho Council resolves to strengthen ties

NAMSAI, Jun 13: The Tai Khamti Singpho Council, the apex organisation of the Tai Khampti and Singpho communities, in a joint consultative meeting held at the conference hall of old DC office here on Wednesday resolved to strengthen the existing age-old ties between the two communities and to continue their works for the greater interest of the society.
The meeting, chaired by the council’s president, Chow Khamsen Namchoom also held elaborate discussion on the council’s reform and other issues which need urgent attention of the society.
The members present were of the view that reforms in the council are indispensable in order to cope with the needs of changing times.
Among others, Chow Khanseng Namchoom, Chairman Chongkham Village Council, Singpho chiefs Jawja Maio and Jawra Latho, representatives of community based organisations, GBs, public leaders, youth and student leaders and members of the Namsai district Women Welfare Society attended the meeting.
