ITANAGAR, Jun 22: The Labour Cell of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee demanded the Forest Department to immediately release the wages/salaries of the labourers engaged by the department.
In a release, APCC Labour Cell Chairman Yangbiu Takik informed that the laborers’ have not received their salary for the last four months causing hardships to them.
“It is very unfortunate on the part of Forest Department as well as State Government that no immediate steps has been taken to release their four months’ salary,” Takik said.
The labour cell of the APCC also said that few labourers of the Forest Department have been terminated without any reason and demanded the authorities concerned to reengage the sacked labourers.
“We the Labour Cell of APCC condemnsuch step-motherly attitude of the state BJP government towards the labour class and demand immediate necessary action to release the four months’ salaries as well as to re-engage the terminated labourers of Forest Department,” the release added.
