Five-day academic prog at Roing begins

ROING, Jun 22: The five-day-long academic programme, organised by the Idu-Mishmi Cultural and Literary Society (IMCLS) and the All Idu Mishmi Students Union (AIMSU), commenced with the felicitation programme for the student toppers of class X, XII, and college belonging to Idu-Mishmi at the Naba Ita Pulu Cultural Hall at Cheta here on Friday.
The programme includes a three-daycareer counselling for students of both school and college.
The final day is scheduled for an interaction session between the members of the IMCLS and the college and university students.
The felicitation was sponsored by the Idu-Mishmi College and University Teachers.
The objective of this programme is to encourage the children to perform better in academics and to guidance and help them to choose the right career, said IMCLS vice president Bhishen Mepo.

Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom congratulated the toppers for their achievement and encouraged them to work hard.
“Education is the only means by which we can achieve and reach our goal,”said Namchoom.
Expressing her concern over the poor results of most of Government- run schools in the district, Namchoom said that she will keep a constant touch with the schools in order to ensure better results.
IMCLS Literary secretaryDr Razzeko Delesaid that learning is a continuous process and will never end in life.
“We should keep an open mindand gain extra knowledge from all possible sources as much as we can,” he said.
Circle Officer Rome Mele, an MTech and MBA, and a former businessman, also shared his educational experiences with the children, and about all the failures that he had faced in life.
“We can learn from our failures and mistakes,” and go ahead in life, he said.
GS IMCLS Rao Dele and GS AIMSU Mompa Linggi also spoke on the occassion, and stressed on the children to learn and make uae of their mother tongue, and to incorporate the traditional attire in their daily lives.
Principals of JNV Roing, VKV Roing, GHSS Roing and Intaya Public School, were also felicitated for excellence in performance of their students in the 2018 CBSE results.
