SEPPA, Jun 27: The East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) in a day-long coordination meeting with district administration, SMC chairpersons, principals, parents/guardians and teachers at Anne Donyi Nyelle Lapang (hall) here on Wednesday adopted several resolutions for improvement of education system, especially of government schools in the district.
The meeting, which was held following bad performance of government schools in the class -X and class-XII examination 2018 in the district.
It was also decided that monthly parent-teacher meet be held in government schools besides counseling programme for the students as it resolved to ban use of mobile phone in schools.
Strengthening of School Management Committee (SMCs), re-evaluation of Anganwadi workers’ qualification and adherence to proper procedure in appointment of the Anganwadi workers are some other resolutions adopted in the meeting.
The house in presence of EKSWCO chairman Khya Safar Pao and Vice-Chairman Dahey Sangno also discussed various other issues which include rationalisation of transfer/posting irrespective of gender without any political interference, scrapping of ‘no detention policy and mass detention in Class-IX and Class-XI.’ It was also decided to encourage students to give more time on study and for proper implementation of 75 per cent attendance of students in the schools.
EKSWCO also appealed to the parents and guardians for proper parenting of their wards at home and also requested all the teachers to be sincere in their duties.
Deputy Commissioner, Gaurav Singh Rajawat also suggested few points to improve the education system in the district and said that he is ready to implement the resolutions taken by the EKSWCO.
DDSE Duken Kato was also present in the meeting.
