YINGKIONG, Jun 28: The Upper Siang District Disaster Management Agency and the Doimukh-based 12 Bn NDRF’s C Coy organised a nine-day awareness programme on disaster management, which concluded at the general ground here on Thursday.
Safety tips related to earthquakes, along with emergency rescue techniques, flood rescue techniques, and fire safety measures were taught during the nine-day programme.
DDMO (in-charge) Baling Yirang stressed the importance of conducting awareness programmes on disaster management to enable people to take precautionary measures and minimize the extent and effects of disasters.
Inspector Rana Kumar and Sub-Inspector Ranvir Singh Pathania of the NDRF advised the participants to utilize the knowledge they acquired during the programme in case disaster strikes.
The participants also took part in a mock drill on earthquake preparedness. (DIPRO)
