DC seeks need-based proposals for schools’ development

PASIGHAT, Jun 28: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak on Thursday called for “need-based proposals based on priority requirements of the schools of the district.”
Tatak said this while chairing a district level coordination meeting for the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Samast Shiksa Yojana.
The state government has launched the scheme for decentralized planning of resources at the district level for holistic and quality improvement of education, he said, and called for “prioritizing proposals as per immediate and actual requirements of schools.”
After discussions and prioritizing requirements as per availability of fund, the district level executive committee members decided to accord priority to internal wiring works for all upper primary, secondary and higher secondary schools of the district, keeping in mind the introduction of smart classrooms.
Focus was also laid on water supply and toilets and critical renovation work.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong also offered inputs for need-based and judicious planning for improvement of school and college infrastructures and other needs for holistic development of the education sector.
