ITANAGAR, Jun 29: The All Arunachal Motor Transport Federation (AAMTF) has lodged a complaint at the Itanagar police station against the construction of permanent vendors’ structures in the public parking area in Ganga.
“The structures have been erected by some individuals in the public parking place near the clock tower and the Bank Baroda in Ganga,” the federation stated in the FIR.
The parking space “is the oldest place in Itanagar since 1978,” it said, and claimed that the group of vendors who had been allowed by the capital complex deputy commissioner to trade their wares in the area temporarily, has started constructing structures there illegally, using steel truss and CGI sheets.
Terming it illegal encroachment on the public parking space, the federation urged the authority concerned to initiate action against the defaulters.
The capital complex DC had notified two areas in Ganga market – the clock tower and the Bank of Baroda area – as a vending zone on temporary basis on 23 August, 2017.
