Farmers urged to adoptmodern fish farming technology

NAMSAI, Jul 11: Namsai Assistant Director of Fisheries, SK Jawal urged the farmers to adopt modern technology and avail various schemes provided by the centre and state governments to boost fish production.
He was addressing farmers during a district fisheries department organized programme held at Kumari Adivasi village under Lekang circle on Tuesday last, to mark Fish Farmer’s Day.
Around 45 progressive fish farmers participated in the programme.
Agriculture Deputy Director, K Socia emphasised the need to take up agri-allied activities on large scale, while KVK Namsai Senior Scientist, Dr D Sasmal highlighted the aspects of fish production technology and its role in doubling farmer’s income with integrated farming system.
Later, an interactive session between scientists and farmers was also held to resolve the problems faced by the farmers.
