JAIRAMPUR, Jul 11: The security forces deployed here in conjunction with the Assam police have apprehended an over ground worker (OGW) belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) from Kharsang in Changlang district during an operation on 10 July.
The nabbed OGW, who has been identified as Chankap Mossang, had allegedly been carrying out extortion and recruitment for the group in Miao circle, informed Kohima based Defence PRO Col C Konwer.
The OGW was previously an active cadre of the NSCN(R) and had been apprehended by the Assam Rifles in 2015. He confessed to having extorted money from a junior engineer at Miao on 7 July, the Defence PRO said.
