ITANAGAR, Jul 13: The Arunachal Pradesh Veterinary Association has expressed strong resentment over the granting of pre-arrest bail to one of the prime accused in the vandalizing of the official quarters of the animal husbandry and veterinary & dairy development director in Nirjuli.
In a press release, the association said the move set a wrong precedence.
“The accused were on the run for nearly a month and they could not be arrested for such a long time. The reason for the failure to arrest them may be due to lack of specific inputs on the whereabouts of the accused and other possible reason best known to the police. However, the accused got enough time to approach the competent court and ultimately managed to obtain pre-bail from the Gauhati High Court, permanent bench Naharlagun which is unfortunate and disgracing news for serving doctor fraternity in the department in particular and government service fraternity of the state as a whole,” it said.
The association appealed to the investigating agency to “take up the case in a free and fair manner in order to ensure early delivery of justice.”
