ITANAGAR, Jul 13: The Indo-Global Social Service Society conducted an awareness camp on ‘Micro-finance and developmental schemes in contexts to gender equality’ at Daath (Jollang) village here on Friday.
The objective of the camp was to educate communities about various government schemes and programmes. The participants came from different villages, such as Chimpu, Donyi-Dokum , Lorputung, and Daath.
Resource person Godak Rovison, who is also the training in-charge at Nirjuli-based Rural Self Employment Training Institute, spoke about government programmes and schemes relating to micro-finance. He also took queries from the participants.
Resource person Giogi Tade shared his views on the roles of men and women and the importance of sharing responsibilities equally in order to build a good relationship and a suitable environment for children as well as parents.
Several programmes, including group dance by women of Daath village, a skit on ‘The impact of imbalance in the family’, a fashion show and sports were part of the awareness camp.
