ITANAGAR, Jul 13: Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has urged the department concerned to ensure electrification of 44,806 households in Arunachal Pradesh, under the Centre’s Saubhagya flagship programme, within the given timeline.
Addressing a meeting of the State Level Standing Committee here on Friday, the CS asked the departmental officers to work on a mission mode to achieve universal household electrification under Saubhagya by providing electricity connection to all the households in rural and urban areas by 31 December.
Gopal asked the power commissioner and the DCF to direct the deputy commissioners to monitor the progress of the Saubhagya scheme in the districts.
Talking about the status of Namsai as and aspirational district under the Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, Power (E) SE Ginko Linggi informed the CS that the district will be electrified by 15 August under the Saubhagya scheme.
The SLSC later decided to recommend a DPR worth Rs 405 crore to the union power ministry.
Among others, Power Commissioner GS Meena, Finance Commissioner Kaling Tayeng, REC representative SC Garg, and APCCF AK Shukla attended the meeting.
