Fight growing drugs menace: Gamlin

AALO, Jul 16: Tourism Minister Jarkar Gamlin on Monday exhorted every member of the society to fight against the growing drug menace.
“It is a collective responsibility of all to root out the evil from the society,” Gamlin said after inaugurating the new office of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) here on Monday.
He appealed to the administration, police, civil society and youths to join hands to eradicate drug abuse, and advocated exemplary punishment for drug peddlers.
The minister said the new NYK office, which was constructed under SIDF after the old office collapsed, would continue to serve as a platform
for the youths of the district to carry out youth development activities and disseminate information on government policies and programmes.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan exhorted the youths of the district to strive for excellence in their chosen fields, while NYK youth coordinator (in-charge) Olom Talom sought cooperation of all in providing proper direction to the youths. (DIPRO)
