ZIRO, Jul 17: The All Lower Subansiri Trans-Arunachal Highway Land Affected People Forum (ALSTAHLAPF) submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner here on Tuesday, informing that it would go ahead with its second phase of agitation over the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) issue in the form of a 24-hour bandh in Lower Subansiri and Kamle districts if fresh verification does not begin by 18 July.
Apart from the verification process, the forum said it would enforce the 24-hour bandh from 19 July in both the districts if the state government fails to display the list of beneficiaries in detail (both paid and unpaid), along with the detailed project report and the bank documents.
The ALSTAHLAPF said it reached the decision during a meeting held at Hapoli on 8 July with the student unions, youth associations, market committees and senior citizens of Lower Subansiri and Kamle districts regarding the state government’s failure to address the demands.
The other demands include immediate construction of the stretch of the TAH from Potin in Lower Subansiri district; peg-marking the entire stretch of the TAH from Potin to Bopi as per the strip plan and project right of way (RoW); constituting a separate re-verification committee for Raga, Ziro and Yachuli blocks, headed by an IAS officer as the chairman, within 18 July; releasing the compensation for both sides (LHS & RHS) under the project RoW of the TAH land affected families from Ziro 12 km to Bopi as per assessment done; allocating fund for repair and maintenance of the road from Pine Grove to Pamluk and repair and maintenance of Possa bridge, and Kamla and Sigen bridges on the Potin-Pangin segment; and immediately resolving with the Airports Authority of India the issue of air traffic relating to the advanced landing ground in Ziro.
It further demanded that the TAH compensation misappropriation case be handed over to the CBI for free and fair investigation, that all the officials and officers responsible for misappropriation of public money be terminated from their jobs, and that the inquiry report be made public.
