ITANAGAR, Jul 18: The All East Kameng District Students’ Union (AEKDSU) has in a letter to the state minister for Home on Wednesday, reiterated its demand for initiating disciplinary action against erring police personnel in the Toko Yame murder case.
The union claimed that despite repeated submission of memorandums to the superintendent of police (crime/SIT) PHQ and director general of police PHQ, demanding immediate suspension of police personnel who were on PCR duty on that particular day, no action has been initiated against them.
Stating that no disciplinary action has been taken against the police personnel even after a period of nine months since the incident, the union urged the state minister for Home to initiate strict action against the erring officials within a week of the receipt of the letter.
It further threatened to resort to democratic action against the department in case its demand is not met with within the stipulated time.
