Union condemns Assam police for obstructing Rebia’s visit

ITANAGAR, Jul 18: The All Papum Pare District Border Students’ Union (APPDBSU) has condemned the Assam police and administration for preventing Environment & Forests Minister Nabam Rebia and his entourage from visiting his own constituency at Bogoli-Denka on Monday while travelling through Laluk in Assam.
The union has urged the Assam police and its government not to repeat the same when a minister is on “mission to develop the people and its area”.
On 15 July, Rebia was supposed to visit Denka and lay the foundation stone for the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojana (model village) there, but was obstructed twice, near the rail-crossing and Gabaru Bridge, for more than an hour by police.
He was accompanied by Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda and several HoDs.
