LIKABALI, Jul 25: Government higher secondary school (GHSS), Likabali won the opening match of the Lower Siang district level boys’ Subroto Cup defeating GHSS, Tirbin 2-1 at Chidu-Chigo ground here on Wednesday.
GHSSs Telam won the second match against GHSS, Koyu.
In the girls section, GHSS, Tirbin defeated GSS, Dipa 3-0.
The tournament was kicked off by Lower Siang SP Taru Gusar.
Subroto Cup is an inter-school football tournament in India, named after the Indian Air Force Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee. The objective of the tournament is to identify and promote the young football talents, said Lower Siang DDSE PK Lombi, who is also the organizing chairman of the tournament.
The tournament is organized by GHSS, Likabali under the banner of DDSE, Lower Siang.
