ITANAGAR, Jul 26: The personnel of the programme cadre of the All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan are on the path of agitation against the policies of Prasar Bharati which they say has denied them promotion for the last 25-30 years and is now bringing in non-professionals from outside to head key programme posts instead of promoting the personnel and filling the posts with the deserving officers of the cadre.
Gate meetings are being held as the mode of protest all over the country. Expressing solidarity with the rest of the DD Kendras of the country, the programme personnel of the Doordarshan Kendra here also held a gate meeting on Thursday as mark of protest against Prasar Bharati.
The protest will continue till the demands of the personnel are fulfilled, the agitating employees informed.
