HAYULIANG, Jul 26: A district level awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, as part of the ‘Beti bachoa beti padhao’ campaign, was conducted at the government higher secondary school here in Anjaw district on Thursday.
CDPO Kara Juna Tebe along with nodal officers and the team of the child protection unit highlighted the importance of the POSCO Act. The programme was inaugurated by DRDA PD Mito Dirchi in the presence of SP Habung Hailyang.
Earlier, on 25 July, the DUDA organized a cleanliness drive, under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, in the office premises of the deputy commissioner in Hawai. The newly-elected members of the Hawai Bazaar Committee, swachhta ambassador Ali Pul, and residents of neighboring villages participated in the programme.
Deputy Commissioner Mamata Riba urged the people of the district to use local indigenous products like bamboo baskets and dustbins, bamboo carriers, wooden bowls, etc, to create a clean and safe environment.
