TEZU, Jul 26: An eight-day awareness programme on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Children Act, 2015, conducted by the Lohit district child protection unit (DCPU), concluded here on Thursday.
Similar programmes were also conducted at various other schools in Lohit, and in Namsai district. The students were apprised of the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act, besides the official norms for care and protection of children below 18 years of age.
The duties and responsibilities of the legal services authority, the special juvenile police units, the Juvenile Justice Board, the CWC and the DCPU were also elaborated.
The CDPOs of Tezu, Namsai and Lekang circles also participated. (DIPRO)
