ITANAGAR, Jul 27: The capital complex unit of the Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) has requested the elementary education director to cancel environmental science (EVS) subject from the Class 1 and 2 syllabi for the 2018-19 academic session.
In a representation to the director, the ATA unit said EVS textbooks, published by the State Council of Educational Research & Training, are not available in most of the government schools in Itanagar, and that it would be impossible to cover the syllabus in such a situation.
The district administration, in collaboration with the DDSE, introduced a new examination system in government schools under the Chief Minister Samarth Shiksha Yojana early this month, and EVS is included in it.
