SIVASAGAR (Assam), Jul 29: Around 78 persons, including 16 children were evacuated from the flood affected Cholegaon village here on Saturday by a team of the 12th Bn NDRF based in Doimukh, Papum Pare.
The rescue operation, led by Inspector (GD) Ravi Kant, was conducted following a request from the deputy commissioner of the affected district to evacuate the people who were stranded due to flooding in their village after the water level of the Dikhow river rose suddenly because of heavy rains.
