CHIMPU, Aug 4: The Itanagar Solung Festival Football Tournament – 2018 got underway at the AAP Bn ground here on Saturday afternoon.
The tournament was kicked off by 1st AAPBn Commandant Bomge Kamduk. AAPBn.
Altogether 21 teams (18 regular and 3 veteran) from various parts of the capital complex region are participating in the tournament.
The inaugural match was played between Siang UFC and Sisang Anggong FC, in which the former defeated the latter 2-1 in a keenly contested match.
Tanyong Nokar of Siang UFC was adjudged player of the day.
Earlier, a cultural extravaganza was presented by the Ayanam Raseng cultural troupe.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamduk called upon the players to maintain sportsmanship spirit and display discipline throughout the tournament.
