YINGKIONG, Aug 4: Training on weaving and handloom for rural artisans of Tuting-Singa-Gelling and Jengging blocks of Upper Siang district, under BADP 2017-18, began at the crafts centre here on Friday.
Yingkiong ADC Adong Pertin, who inaugurated the programme, urged the trainees to take advantage of the initiative and apply the knowledge they gain in practical life.
Textile & Handloom Assistant Director Gindu Tayeng informed that the trainees will be imparted training on the latest weaving and handloom designs. He said local traditional designs should be encouraged in order to promote originality.
District Project Officer Talut Tatak advised the trainees to attend similar skill development training in future to promote entrepreneurship among rural women. (DIPRO)
