MP announces Rs 10 lakh relief for Roing fire victims

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Member of Parliament Ninong Ering on Monday announced Rs 10 lakhs from his MP Local Area Development fund for relief and rehabilitation of the families affected by the recent fire incident in Roing market.
The amount will be utilized for reconstruction of the shops, using CGI sheets. However, Rs 1 lakh out of the total amount announced is meant for the affected public, said the MP in a release.
The relief amount will be distributed through the Lower Dibang Valley deputy commissioner.
Expressing regret that he could not reach Roing and meet the affected people immediately after the incident due to the ongoing Parliament session, the MP assured to provide every possible help to the victims.
At least 26 shops were completely destroyed in the fire, and four were dismantled to prevent the inferno from spreading further.
