CHANGLANG, Aug 7: MLA Tesam Pongte inaugurated the 40-bedded boys’ hostel of the government higher secondary school here on Tuesday.
The building was funded under SIDF 2016-17, and was executed by the public works department.
Dedicating the infrastructure to the people of Changlang, the MLA said construction of more hostel buildings would be proposed in the days to come.
Changlang Deputy Commissioner Wayong Khimhun cited the absence of a hostel as one of the main reasons behind the poor results of the school, and expressed hope that the institution would now perform better in the upcoming session.
Later, the MLA inaugurated the circuit house here. The circuit house has eight rooms, and was constructed by the PWD under SPA 2013-14.
