TEZU, Aug 10: The 2nd Late Kalikho Pul Memorial Literary Competition was organized by the Mishmi Hills Foundation (MHF) in Tamlanagar here in Lohit district on 9 and 10 August.
The event, organized in commemoration of the second death anniversary of former chief minister Kalikho Pul, saw the participation of a large number of students from Lohit and Anjaw districts.
Essay writing, drawing, debate and quiz competitions were the main attractions of the event.
Addressing the valedictory function on Friday, Tezu EAC S Sengupta said the literary event was “the most befitting way of paying homage to the late CM, who was one of the tallest leaders from the state, known for his hard work and indomitable spirit to serve the people during his long political stint.”
Sengupta exhorted the students to take interest in extracurricular activities apart from studies.
Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmi secretary Suraj Tayang lauded the MHF for conducting the literary event, and said such event would “motivate the younger generation to develop their literary skills, which would further enable them to face competitive exams in the near future.”
The Amliang VKV team was adjudged the champion and awarded the champion’s trophy. The winners of various competitions were also presented with trophies and cash awards.
