CHONGKHOW, Aug 10: Chatai Lowang Wangham, the chief of Chongkhow village in Wakka administrative circle of Longding district, passed away after prolonged illness at around 4.45 am on Friday. He was 85, and is survived by three wives, eleven sons and nine daughters.
In addition to his chieftainship, Wangham had served as gaon burah for more than 15 years. He was popular among the people for his decision-making abilities.
The villagers, along with relatives, friends and well-wishers have deeply mourned the death of Wangham. His last rites will be performed on 11 August. (DIPRO)
