SEPPA, Aug 11: The East Kameng district administration launched a ‘cleanliness drive-cum-safai competition’ here on Saturday, in the run-up to the Independence Day celebration on 15 August.
Organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner GS Rawat, the drive, which would be held till 14 August, is being organized as a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Circle Officer (SBM) Laxmi Dodum informed.
The DC has constituted a team of officials to inspect all the government offices and mark them on parameters such as general cleanliness, water logging, growth of vegetation, cleanliness outside the compound, etc, informed Dodum.
“After inspecting all the government establishments, the team will finally select the best performing ones on 14 August. They will be awarded during the Independence celebrations,” Dodum said.
