Cleanliness drives organized

INNAO, Aug 13: Scores of students and teachers from various schools, along with members of the market association participated in a cleanliness drive at the market area in Innao in Changlang district on Monday in the run-up to Independence Day.
The drive was organized by the government higher secondary school here. The school’s principal, Moli Tato, requested the vendors and shop owners to install dustbins in front of their shops to prevent littering.
Diyun EAC Jacob Tabing also participated in the drive.
In Sagalee in Papum Pare district, the urban & housing department organized a social service-cum-awareness campaign in the township ahead of Independence Day, in collaboration with Clean and Green Sagalee, on Monday.
In Longding, the Longding District Students’ Union conducted a social service at the hospital, the DC office, the main market area and the general ground prior to I-Day celebration.
It also distributed around 30 dustbins at the market, the hospital, and the DC office.
Deputy Commissioner VS Mallik appreciated the effort put in by the union and NGOs of the district who volunteer to clean up the town as and when needed. (With DIPRO input)
