CHIMPU, Aug 20: Banggo United and Siang United have entered into the semifinals of the Itanagar Solung Football Tournament-2018.
Gelat Jiji scored a brilliant hat-trick, powering Banggo United to a 3-1 victory over Doying Gollong in the first quarterfinal played at the AAPBn ground here on Monday.
He netted the goals in the 24th, 58th and 60th minutes.
Bani Ngopok scored the consolation goal for Doying Gollong in the 63rd minute.
Deservingly, Gelat was adjudged ‘player of the match’.
Siang United came from behind to beat Naharlagun Solung 4-3 in the second quarterfinal, in which Mallek Apang scored a hat-trick of goals. Moshi Saroh another goal for Siang United.
However, it was Naharlagun Solung which took the lead early in the 15th minute with a goal from Alo Darang. Oling Pada and Okit Paling netted one goal each.
Mallek Apang was adjudged ‘player of the match’.
