ZIRO, Aug 21: Ziro Additional Deputy Commissioner Nending Chatung urged the education and the women & child development departments along with other stakeholders to equally shoulder the responsibility to ensure the success of the forthcoming National Deworming Day (NDD).
During a District Level Coordination Committee meeting at Gyati Takka General Hospital here on Tuesday, Chatung also took stock of the preparations for the launch of NDD, and urged all the stakeholders to play an active role for the success of the programme.
DFWO Dr Derin Likar made a PowerPoint presentation on NDD. He informed that 12054 children in the age group of 1 to 15 years in Lower Subansiri district would be administered Albendazole tablets, and that Vitamin A tablets would also be provided to children of 1 to 5 years of age during the campaign.
The NDD will be officially launched on 27 August, followed up by a mop-up on 1 September.
Earlier, an orientation workshop on NDD for medical officers, CDPOs, supervisors, BEOs and other paramedical staff was also held. (DIPRO)
