First periodic test for govt schools of capital begins

ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The first periodic test for the students of all government schools of the Capital Complex began simultaneously on Wednesday.
Considering the poor performance of the students last year, the district administration has adopted measures to improve the overall educational scenario, which is the introduction of the centralized periodic tests, informed Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan.
A common periodic test will ensure a common question paper for the students in each class in every school and it will promote qualitative competition between all the students, the DC said.
He further added that the system will help to identify the poor performing schools and accordingly, extra care and attention would be given to such schools.
DC informed that the questions have been set centrally by a board which has been kept confidential. The answer scripts would also be checked by swapping the teachers from various schools to rule out the possibility of any manipulation.
He further shared that the schedule for the periodic tests with syllabus has already been issued to all schools to help in timely completion of syllabus.
The DC further hoped that such measures would improve the overall performance of the schools. (DIPRO)
