‘Appoint APWB chairman from Puroik community’

ITANAGAR, Aug 29: Members of the Autonomous Puroik Welfare Board (APWB) along with All Puroik Welfare Society, All Puroik Students’ Union, All Puroik Youth Association and All Puroik Women Welfare Society have jointly appealed to the state government to ensure that the chairman of the APWB be appointed strictly from the Puroik community in the interest of the community.
In a meeting held on Tuesday last, the Puroik organizations have further strongly demanded the government to ensure early boundary demarcation of Puroik villages and colonies, establishment of Puroik model village within the Capital Complex to rehabilitate the Puroik community, and establishment of government residential school, along with boys’ and girls’ hostel.
