LONGDING, Aug 29: The students of GHSS, Kanubari led by the Longding District Students’ Union (LDSU) on Wednesday took out a protest rally demanding immediate release of pending stipend of the students.
The protesting students marched from GHSS, Kanubari and arrived at the KanubariADC office to express their displeasure.
The students’ union said that the elementary students of the GHSS, Kanubari have not received their six months stipend of 2017-18, whereas stipend has already been disbursed to the students of all other schools in the district.
The students appealed to the education minister, directorate of elementary education and secretary education to look into the matter and initiate necessary action for early disbursement of the stipend.
The LDSU also demanded immediate posting of subject teachers at GHSS, Kanubari.
Stating that the performance of the students of the GHSS, Kanubari in the last CBSE examination can be attributed to lack of proper subject teachers, the students union demanded that the education department post subject teachers for Political Science, History, Geography and Hindi.
