TEZU, Aug 30: Lohit Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki convened a meeting here on Thursday to discuss the ongoing special summary revision of photo electoral roll, 2018-’19.
ERO Priscilla Tayeng informed that the Election Commission of India has set the schedule for the special summary revision of intensive nature of the photo electoral roll 2019, with 01-01-2019 as qualifying date, from 1 September to 31 October.
“The ECI has also directed to submit all kinds of forms through compulsory online system, which is the National Voter’s Service Portal (NSVP) through www.nvsp.in,” she said.
The DC emphasized on compulsory registration of forms through the NVSP portal. Speaking on the importance of BLOs in the revision process, he urged the BLOs to sensitize and encourage every citizen to apply online through the NVSP portal.
He also urged the BLOs to work with dedication and honesty in order to ensure an error-free electoral roll.
Leki spoke briefly on VVPAT, and asked the BLOs and the representatives of political parties to get acquainted with VVPATs and create awareness among the public about the new feature.
IGG College Associate Professor Dr Abhay Kant made a presentation on online registration through NVSP, and SVEEP master trainer Dr Brijan Das spoke on the electoral registration process.
EROs, the AEROs of the headquarters and Sunpura, BLOs, master trainers, and representatives of political parties of Tezu-Sunpura assembly constituency attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
