BALEK, Aug 31: Thirty farmers and members of SHGs benefited from a financial literacy programme organized here in Lower Dibang Valley district by the Roing branch of the Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank (APRB).
During the programme, Roing APRB Manager PB Chetry spoke about the benefits that can be availed by those who have bank accounts. He also spoke on social security schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, etc, and advised youths to form a joint liability group and carry out integrated farming.
NABARD District Development Manager Nitya Mili informed about NABARD schemes such as promotion of SHGs, producers’ organization, rural mart, etc, and briefed the participants on the CM’s flagship programmes.
Horticulture scientist VK Pandey from the Lohit KVK informed the participants about the soil health cards being distributed by the KVK, and advised the farmers to check the health of their soil regularly before cultivating any crop.
The APRB also handed over Rupay debit cards to several customers.
