DOIMUKH, Sep 1: “Education does not necessarily need to be the measure for acquiring a job but to grow from within as a responsible and cultured being,” Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda said.
He was addressing students of the government college here on Friday during a ‘counselling-cum-induction’ programme organized for the BA first-semester students of the college.
Urging the students to work hard and develop a sense of perseverance and persistence, the DC advised them to take up student union activities with zeal in order to facilitate the development of the college and benefit the college fraternity.
The college’s principal, Dr MQ Khan advised the students to be sincere in their approach towards their academics and become career-oriented to bring laurels to the institution. He informed the DC about the various issues concerning the institute, including insufficient infrastructure in the new campus.
Earlier, the DC released the annual college magazine Odyssey.
