Governor expresses concern over RGU, NIT functioning without heads

ITANAGAR, Sep 4: Governor BD Mishra has expressed concern that heads of institute have not yet been posted at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and the National Institute of Technology (NIT), the two premier educational institutes of the state.
He shared his concern with Education Minister Honchun Ngandam when the latter called on him at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
The two discussed various ways to enhance the education sector. Mishra advised the minister to focus on infrastructure requirement of the educational institutions, starting from primary schools. He also asked the minister to streamline the issue of midday meals.
The governor informed that, in order to strengthen the state’s education sector, he has constituted a ‘study committee’ which would be submitting its findings very soon.
Mishra said “the children of the state must be taught and developed in such a way that they compete and excel in all-round performance in comparison with the children of the hinterland.” (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
