DAPORIJO, Sep 12: The implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandhana Yojana (PMMVY) and its current status in Upper Subansiri district was reviewed in a meeting of the district level steering and monitoring committee here on Wednesday.
The PMMVY is a maternity benefit programme. The scheme promises pregnant and lactating mother Rs 6000 for birth of their first living child, Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf, who chaired the meeting, said.
Deputy Director (ICDS) District ICDS Cell JJ Singh informed that payments under the schemes were made to 310 beneficiaries so far, out of the 411 applications received from the eight ICDS projects.
The Upper Subansiri DRCHO was directed to compile the list of all the live births from 1 January, 2017 till date and submit the computerized list (block-wise) to DD (ICDS) for inclusion under PMMVY.
