ITANAGAR, Sep 18: Prof P Mohanta, who recently took over the charge of director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Jote, called on Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
During their interaction, Mishra advised the director to make concerted efforts in creating conducive academic ambience in the NIT campus.
“NIT Arunachal Pradesh must shine in all respect of academic excellence. There must be joint effort from the director, members of the faculty, and students to make it the best technical institution in the Northeastern region and the country. Its ranking in all India reckoning must improve and students’ placement must increase in this session,” the governor said.
He emphasized on discipline, punctuality and innovation among the students and the faculty, besides ensuring cleanliness in the institution.
Prof Mohanta assured the governor of “marked improvement in the NIT in time to come.”
NIT Registrar Prof M Shome, Commissioner to Governor Surya Prakash, and Joint Secretary to Governor Mamata Riba Naksang were also present at the meeting. (PRO, Raj Bhavan)
